Ardie Son is a composer and multi-instrumentalist from the Netherlands who, after a long journey searching for his own voice, settled for the cello as his primary expression source. With a taste for classical music's Romantic period, his style can best be described as neo-classical. His compositions feature long and lingering melodies that leave you right on that thin line of melancholy and a stirring distant joy. He is a warm and soulful musician and loved for his delicate approach to music, viewing the practice of composing music mostly as a form of contemplation, an invitation to meditation, a way of processing the many impressions observed in life.
