Louis Spohr

Biography

Louis Spohr was a highly regarded German composer, violinist and conductor at the beginning of the 19th century. His extensive body of work includes 10 symphonies, 10 operas, 18 violin concertos and much more. A significant figure bridging the gap between Classical and Romantic music, Spohr's compositions fell into obscurity after his death but experienced a revival of interest in the late 20th century.
