Biography

Eyal Davidi, known as Shekel, is a prominent figure in the Israeli music scene. Starting in 2010, he produced albums for top rappers and toured the country. Simultaneously, he built a career as an international electronic music DJ. With a unique production style blending old Persian samples with powerful drum machines, Shekel has crafted Israel’s new sound over the past decade. His debut album "Radio Junam" (2016) marked his evolution from producer to performer. His second album "Butterfly Child" (2019), a psychedelic rap/rock fusion, expanded his audience and cemented his influence. Shekel has produced for artists like Aya Zahavi Feiglin and Yasmin Moalem, dominating Israeli radio. His song "Party" won ACUM’s Song of the Year 2020 and was the most-played song on Israeli radio. In his third album "Supreme Grace" (2021), Shekel explores Pop with elements of Afrobeats, Reggaeton, and Dub.
