Biography

Based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Trapper Schoepp has earned acclaim as one of America’s most gifted new Singer-Songwriters and for his remarkably detailed tales of characters on the fringes of society. Born in Red Wing, Minnesota, Trapper's mother encouraged him to study Guitar as a "safer hobby" after suffering a back injury from BMX bike riding. While recovering from the injury, Trapper heard Bob Dylan's song "Hurricane" in the movie of the same name, which inspired him to become a musician. On an upward trajectory with critical praise for his Brendan Benson-produced second album, 2016’s 'Rangers & Valentines', Trapper's life took a sudden personal and health-related downturn and he turned to music for solace and direction. He came across Bob Dylan's unfinished song about his beloved Wisconsin, decided to set the song to music, and eventually earned a co-writing credit with the legendary troubadour.
